New Waterproof Wall Panels: Five Stone-Inspired Decors for 2026

Stone has shaped architecture for centuries. Its weight, cost and installation complexity have not.

This year, Fibo adds five new stone-inspired decors to the wall panel collection — designed to bring the visual depth of natural stone to bathrooms, kitchens and commercial wet rooms, without the drawbacks that come with the real thing.

All five decors are built on the same proven Fibo engineering: seven layers of certified birch plywood, a high-pressure laminate surface and Aqualock click-lock installation. 100% waterproof. Approved under the Norwegian wet room standard. Backed by a 15-year warranty.

The five new decors

Salted Stone

A warm, weathered stone surface with subtle mineral variation. Salted Stone brings an organic, lived-in quality to the space — grounded and contemporary without being cold. Well suited to hospitality and residential projects where warmth and texture matter.

Pebble Granite

A fine-grained granite finish with soft tonal movement. Pebble Granite works as a versatile neutral — quiet enough for large surface areas, detailed enough to hold visual interest at close range. A reliable specification choice for healthcare, education and multi-unit residential.

Pebble Granite M00 — 4250

Rustic Granite

Bolder character with pronounced grain and deeper contrast. Rustic Granite suits projects that call for a stronger material statement — feature walls, accent zones and commercial washrooms where design intent needs to carry from specification through to finished result.

Rustic Granite M00 — 1365

Arctic Onyx

Cool-toned with luminous veining across a pale base. Arctic Onyx brings a sense of light and space to interiors. Its clean, mineral-driven aesthetic makes it particularly effective in compact bathrooms, pod modules and spa-style wet rooms.

Rustic Granite M00 — 1365

Cloudy Onyx

Soft, diffused patterning with warm grey undertones. Cloudy Onyx offers the visual complexity of natural onyx without the translucency challenges and maintenance demands of the real material. A refined choice for premium residential and boutique hospitality.

Why stone-inspired wall panels?

Natural stone remains one of the most specified aesthetic directions in interior design. The challenge has always been practical: stone is heavy, expensive to install, difficult to maintain and hard to source consistently across large projects.

Stone-effect wall panels solve these problems without compromising on visual outcome. Fibo’s high-pressure laminate surface reproduces the depth, texture and tonal variation of stone with a consistency that natural materials cannot match — panel to panel, project to project.

For architects and specification teams, this means confidence that the finished result will match the design intent. For contractors, it means faster installation and fewer on-site complications. For facility managers, it means decades of low-maintenance performance.

The engineering behind the surface

Every new decor shares the same construction that has made Fibo the preferred wall system in over one million installations worldwide:

  • Seven layers of PEFC and FSC certified birch plywood form a stable, moisture-resistant core
  • High-pressure laminate surface provides the waterproof membrane at the front of the panel
  • Aqualock click-lock system creates watertight joints without grout, adhesive or curing time
  • Full-height panels (2,400 mm standard, 3,020 mm available) install directly onto studs or existing walls
  • Installation is up to five times faster than tiles, with no specialist trades required

The result is a 100% waterproof wall system that is approved under the Norwegian wet room standard, Greenguard certified and backed by Environmental Product Declarations verified to EN 15804 and ISO 14025.

Designed for specification

The five new decors expand Fibo’s collection to over 80 designs — spanning stone, cement, marble, wood and solid colour finishes across the Wall-panels and Kitchen Board ranges.

For specification teams working across sectors, this breadth means a single wall system supplier can serve projects from student housing to boutique hotels, from hospital wet rooms to modular bathroom pods. One system. One installation method. Consistent quality.

All decors are available with a range of tile pattern formats, allowing further design flexibility within each specification.

Sustainability credentials

Every Fibo panel is manufactured at the company’s ISO 14001 certified factory in Lyngdal, Norway, powered by 100% certified green energy.

The timber core uses PEFC and FSC certified wood from sustainably managed forests. Throughout its installed life, the birch plywood stores the carbon it absorbed during growth.

An independent study by Asplan Viak documented CO₂ reductions of up to 45% compared to tile installations. Fibo uses up to 80% less material per square metre than tile systems, reducing waste in both production and on-site installation.

All products are accompanied by independently verified Environmental Product Declarations, providing procurement teams and sustainability managers with the documentation they need for BREEAM, LEED and other green building assessments.

Available from April 2026
