A Stylish New School: Fibo Leave Their Mark on Lørenskog Upper Secondary School
Lørenskog Upper Secondary School has received a new building—a modern and future-oriented learning environment where quality and aesthetics are prioritized. A key element of the interior design is the use of Fibo wall panels, which blend functionality and style to perfectly suit a school setting with high demands for durability and maintenance.
A Major Project with Clear Goals
The project is led by Akershus County Municipality as the developer, with a total budget of approximately NOK 150 million. Construction work began in December 2023 on what was then an empty parking lot. By December 2024, the new building was completed, and the entire project is scheduled to be finalized by August 2025. To meet the tight timeline, up to 150 workers have been involved in the project at any given time.
Project manager Bård Ingeberg and site manager Petter Navarsete have played key roles in the execution. Both have extensive experience with large construction projects and have upheld high standards for both material selection and suppliers.
A Natural Choice for Wet Rooms
For bathrooms, restrooms, and changing rooms, the choice fell on Fibo’s bathroom panels, which have proven to be both easy to install and highly durable. Ingeberg has personal experience with the products:
– I used Fibo panels in my own house, built in 1984, and they’re still holding up. That says something about the quality, he says.
Three Colors – One Unified Design
The new building features three different Fibo decors:
• Light Sand
• Warm Grey
• Dusty Blue
This combination creates a warm yet modern aesthetic, giving the rooms a pleasant atmosphere. The color Dusty Blue has been particularly successful, also used in related projects – including the growth room building, where a visual thread was desired to strengthen the school’s identity.
A Practical and Long-Lasting Solution for School Buildings
School buildings place high demands on surface materials – they must withstand heavy use, be easy to clean, and maintain their appearance over time. This is where Fibo wall panels excel. The panels are 100% waterproof and have a durable surface well-suited to school environments.
