Experience and dedication behind the project
Originally from Risør, Aanon is a trained carpenter who later earned a master’s degree from the School of Business at the University of Agder. His combination of hands-on craftsmanship and academic knowledge proved invaluable throughout the building process. The brothers took on every aspect of the project themselves—from planning and permits to laying the foundation, raising the frame, installing the roof, and finishing the interior. The only exception was the interior design, where they got help from a close friend with an eye for style and detail.

This was the most ambitious construction project Aanon had ever undertaken as a carpenter, and he describes it as both challenging and rewarding.

Building a house from scratch is a major undertaking, but with good planning and a structured approach, we got there in the end.

– We wanted to break up the look a bit and have something other than just drywall. Installation experience
– We followed the installation guide carefully, ensuring a level surface and the right support battens. Having two people working together also made a big difference, he adds.

Aanon had previous experience installing Fibo’s waterproof wall system and was already familiar with the benefits of the click system. Even so, he was pleasantly surprised by how seamless the finished result looked with Vito Lacquered Veneer Panels.

The joints are practically invisible, and the panels give the room a clean and natural look. Getting the prep work right is important, but it’s definitely worth the effort.
